Trick or Treat
Alexandra's first Halloween was great! First, she was a big hit at daddy's work.
Then she posed for some pictures...

A Day In The Life...
Alexandra just exploded this past week developmentally. She now has 6 teeth, which I think is crazy. (I had expected her to get her first tooth around 10 months like I did.) She had been army crawling/scooting for a while, but this past week she has gotten much better at crawling, pulling herself up, and sitting herself up. She has also started "walking" with help obviously. Sometimes I think she would rather stand than sit.
I've also been working with her to go to sleep in her bed by herself without rocking her or walking with her. The past few nights she has gone right to sleep without any crying. Let me tell you; that has been a treat and is much better than the screaming we've endured the first few nights. Hopefully, this trend will last.
Of course, this all happened while her daddy was out of town on business this past week. He practically came home to a completely different daughter (well not completely different.)

Just a Few Pics
Well, as you can see from my frenzy of posts, I hadn't posted in a while. Alexandra's third tooth came in today. She wasn't as fussy this time around, but she's not a huge fan of me looking in her mouth at her teeth.
We've fed her oatmeal, green beans, and peas so far. The first time she had green beans, she looked at me with a puzzled expression. After that, though, she was ready for more. Next on my list is sweet potatoes.
Here are a couple of random pictures that I thought were cute. Enjoy!

Purple is my favorite food group!
Veggie Tales
On the July 4th weekend, Alexandra saw her Aunt perform with the Veggie Tales show at Silver Dollar City. She did watch her Aunt dance and in general liked the music, but most of the time she was more interested in trying to eat the zipper pull on her diaper bag. Here is her picture with daddy, Bob, and Larry.
She doesn't know what to make of this--stuck between her Aunt and Larry.

She missed most of her naps, but was a real trooper and wasn't very fussy at all. She was pretty worn out by the end of the outing, though.

MMM...Oatmeal
Day at the Office
Alexandra decided she had to help her daddy settle into his new office. Here she is showing him how this whole accounting/controller thing is done. She's thinking, "Jeesh, dad. It's so easy! I can't believe you find this hard?!"
Although she worked really hard, she did have time to stop and pose for a picture.
Going For a Swim
Here are a few pictures from the first time Alexandra went swimming. Alexandra got all decked out to go swimming. No outfit would be complete without sunglasses and a hat, of course.

Here she is just relaxing. She did really well with the water and even started playing and splashing the water some.

But most of all, I think she liked eating the sea dragon best.

Second Tooth
Alexandra's second bottom tooth broke through the gums yesterday. I can't believe how fast she's growing up. She wants to look at and grab everything. Nothing is safe if it is within reach.
She also loves music. I've been know to watch a Murder She Wrote or two. As soon as the opening music comes on the T.V., Alexandra's head whips to the screen until the music stops. Then she goes on doing whatever she was doing before. She's also started "dancing" to music. This basically consists of her moving her head back and forth and her upper body some. She's too funny.

Firsts
Yesterday was a day of many firsts for Alexandra. Her first tooth broke through her gums and she made her first little boy cry!
I'm glad to know that Alexandra's fussiness the last few days can be contributed to teething and not another ear infection.
Also, her daycare provider informed me that another little boy was sitting in her lap (about 1 and half years old) and Alexandra tried to climb towards her lap, reached up, and pulled his hair. Needless to say, he started crying. Alexandra also reached towards some blocks/Legos stacked up and pulled the whole thing down. That upset another little boy. Apparently, my little 5 month old cutie is quite the bruiser.
But...surely this little angel wouldn't have done those mean things her provider said!

Can't wait until she starts crawling. Everyone better look out once she's mobile.

Easter
Alexandra didn't have the best time this Easter. She wasn't feeling well and really fussy, so we ended up sleeping through church. Shhh, don't tell! We did get some pictures of her in her Easter dress.
Here is the Easter bunny her Grandma gave her. She's had fun checking it out.

Although she did skip church b/c she was sick, she did read her Bible. :) Entertaining everyone is hard work.

Doesn't she look like a little doll?

Beginnings
Okay, so I'm new to this whole blogging thing. I'm not sure how this will turn out, but I thought it would be fun to try. No promises on how interesting I'll be, but with the subject matter of Alexandra (and her cute pictures once I get up and running), it should provide some entertainment value.
Speaking of which, she just woke up crying so gotta go.
