Vacation

We took a trip to Seattle in August. Overall, Alexandra enjoyed it, but we definitely had our share of temper tantrums. Being directed or cooped up isn't really her thing.

Evidence of my little Houdini trying to get out of the car seat.

She loves elephants and giraffes. Probably not the most sanitary thing for her to do, but kissing the elephant does make for a cute picture.

Eating fish and chips on the pier with daddy. Yum.

She is a big fan of water. Here she is at the science museum playing in the trough of water. I ended up pretty wet, too. She kept wanting to show me what she was playing with.

Running through some "sea weed" at the Children's Museum.

Alexandra liked touching star fish and sea urchins at the Aquarium.

Riding a carousel on the pier.

This was our pit stop on the way to the airport. She ran up to the Osceola cheese mouse and shouted..."elephant, elephant!" She wasn't deterred when we told her it was a mouse. She just started shouting "mouse" instead. She was a big fan of the huge statute.

Catch Up

Okay, here are a few pictures from the past few months. I have a lot of catch up to do so I'll just post a few pictures. These aren't necessarily in any order.

Alexandra wasn't quite sure about walking on the snow. She liked to feel it, but I think she didn't like the uneven aspect of it and being off balance.

Here is a picture with her cousin. Sometimes she wants to "love on him" a little too much.

Here is a picture of Alexandra in her Easter dress and grandma's pearls.

Random picture sporting her "baby legs."

This is Alexandra showing off her Easter dress. She will turn around after I put an outfit on her for me to see it and say "pretty."

Alexandra loves to tumble around. She is quite the dare devil and fearless. I'm so going to have gray hair soon.

Just another random picture with daddy's hat on.

Presents

One of the things Alexandra got from us for Christmas was this Dora Ball Pit. She absolutely loves it. She hides things in it, takes a running dive into it, pushes one side and flips it over, sits in it and watches T.V., and burrows under the balls.

Mom, I'm busy! Come back later!

As you can see, she really likes playing with this. We call it her Ball Room and it keeps her occupied for quite a while. Now if only I could get her to pick up the balls after she's done.

One of the things Alexandra and I got her Aunt for her baby shower was this Sea Horse. Alexandra has one just like it that she calls her "baby" and sleeps with it every night. She likes to hold it and chew on the side fins/ears. When I picked it up at the store, she cradled the box and chewed on the box at the store. When her aunt opened it at the shower, Alexandra cried until I gave her the box and then carried it around until her daddy picked her up and took her to the house. I have a feeling we're going to have some fun times ahead with Alexandra and her soon to be new cousin.

Happy First Birthday!

Alexandra turned one on December 28th. We had her party that Saturday before at the Carriage House. The theme was Winter Wonder Land.

It was pretty rainy out, but we had a good time anyway. The guests were "carted" down to the party and back.

Alexandra had a blast eating her cake. Yum!!

Here is a picture of the Birthday cake I made for her.

Christmas

This year was Alexandra's first Christmas! She was a big help shopping for the tree. I think she takes after her mama because she picked out the biggest tree she could find (with no help from mommy, I'm sure.)

I think her favorite part of Christmas was the bows.

She attacked the opening of presents like she does everything else--methodically and curiously.

Poor kid didn't hardly get any presents. **wink, wink**

Thanksgiving

I'm so far behind, but I thought I would catch up on some of the major holidays in the past few months. The first being Thanksgiving.

She took a golf cart ride.

And just sat on the 4 wheeler.

Yum! Food--enough said.
